Lil Boosie In Studio vs. Big Poppa (Freestyle) [Video]

One video that has been floating around for awhile is footage of Lil Boosie in the studio with Big Poppa spitting a freestyle. They are both from Louisiana and they freestyle over the instrumental for “Do The Ratchet.” If you listen, you will pick up on the fact that it is straight off the top of the head and that he is hanging with his Lava House Records homies. Both artists really go in and don’t hold anything back. They talk about dealing, the haters, and most of the real life situations that they have had to deal with.

When artists take the time to kick a freestyle off the top of the dome, they are usually just having fun. Fortunately they go in over one of the hottest beats to ever be released in the hip hop game. This is an old freestyle session and has been out for awhile now, but it’s still some piff that should be checked out if you haven’t yet. You already know how they do out in Jigga City a.k.a. Baton Rouge Louisiana. Everyone likes partying and they keep it one hundred percent real in their rhymes.

Near the end of the footage, Big Poppa spits some more rhymes and talks about how he got into the game. He discusses the time that he started hittin some dro, started rapping, and having everybody in the club going crazy. It’s always good to get a perspective of the game and hear how other artists were able to get in the game. Lil Boosie and Big Poppa are cool with each other (they have been for awhile) and in case you didn’t already know, he is featured in the music video for the track “Gin In My Cup.”

Big Poppa and Lil Boosie Freestyle In The Studio

The work that Big Poppa and Lil Boosie have done together has been damn good. They have pretty good chemistry together. Anytime the Bad Azz hooks up with someone else that keeps it real, you know that the record or freestyle is going to be off the chain. In this case, they did a freestyle and they have done some other music related things together that you can check up on if you haven’t already. Be sure to give the above video a play through and check out more Lil Boosie freestyles if you liked it.

Lil Boosie – My Struggle

The track “My Struggle” by Lil Boosie is another banger off of his 2006 release Bad Azz. Most die-hard fans probably already have this track (ant they should because it is a classic). There will always be some people that are not up to date or brand new fans, so it is a good idea to show them some good music so that they know what to play. Anyways, this track is really reflexive upon Torrence Hatch’s life as a person growing up in the south Baton Rouge area. Most people know that he is an artist who stays true to his life in his rhymes.

In this song, for example, he talks about his struggle. If you have had the chance to take a look at the biography of Lil Boosie, then you know he has been through a lot from a very young age. He reflects on his dads’ drug issues as well as growing up getting bruised and the drug traffickers that ran rampant through his neighborhood. The entire song is great because you get to hear what he did directly through his own words. None of this track is made up, he just talks about his lifestyle and where it has led him in the struggle.

Most people probably have not have experienced a lot of the things that are talked about in “My Struggle.” However, some people may have, especially if you are from a fairly dangerous community like Boosie was growing up. He tells the tales of selling drugs, having big stacks, how the O.G.’s showed him the ropes around the block and told them how to work the system. He talks about his experiences getting money, copping jewelry and references several people that he used to hang out with. The realness and insight that you can get into his life is incredible through this song.

Lil Boosie My Struggle (Listen)

If you have not ever heard the song My Struggle, then you can take a listen in the music player above. He also addresses several rumors that people have made up about him in this song including the one where someone said was that Lil Boosie dead from two shots to the head. Others made up the rumor that he overdosed on ecstasy (them pills or jiggas). As you know, it is probably not a good idea to believe everything that you hear about his struggle unless you hear it from Torrence Hatch himself. Take a listen to the track and see what’s up with the Bad Azz.

Since releasing the album, he has put out other tracks like “Gin In My Cup” that are even newer. Additionally, there were plenty of Boosie mixtapes that have been released in the past year. You should know that he is collaborating with Young Jeezy on the song “Miss Me.” Also, he is working hard to perfect his next album. In a little while, people will be talking about a Lil Boosie new album in 2010 called Free At Last which is set to come out when he is free from his jail term.
